The ongoing build-up of my 1978 Datsun 620 King Cab.

I've owned this truck since May 2004. I bought it for $500 from my mates dad, who just wanted it out of the backyard.  It had a timber flat tray, 15" Sunraysia wheels with huge tyres, and sat like a four wheel drive!  Straight away I bought a set of 16" 4 Runner rims and low profile tyres, and added the flames on the bonnet. It was registered 3 weeks later.  Then came the modifications!

The weekend after it was on the road, I lowered it, by winding down the torsion bars in the front, and adding 2" blocks in the rear.  The rear didn't sit low enough from just the blocks, so I removed some of the rear leaves, and just left the main spring. This brought it down level with the front.

After making phone calls to practically every wreckers within a 200 kilometre radius, I finally found a styleside tray in Ipswich. I didn't care what condition it was in, because the Bulletside is rare as rocking horse shit here in Australia, especially the king cab.  It wasn't as bad as I expected, and the tailgate and lights were there too, so I handed over $150 and I was on my way home!
